Thraed is made by Chewable AS, a company registered in Norway. Chewable AS is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at [email protected].

When you use Thraed, we collect and store personal information needed to deliver the core experience and keep your account secure:

• Email address for account creation and communication
• Profile information you choose to provide
• Wardrobe data including clothing items, categories, and organizational preferences
• Saved outfits and style combinations
• Your colour analysis result (your season and palette), if you use that feature
• Style chat messages, outfit history and the style preferences the stylist remembers, if you use the stylist
• Your approximate location, only if you allow it, and only to look up today's weather for outfit suggestions
• Your subscription status and usage of scans and try-ons
• The date you agreed to AI processing of your photos, so we can show that you gave permission

Some features need your photos to be processed by AI providers outside your device. We ask for your permission in the app before the first time this happens. Here's how we handle your images:

• Sent for processing: When you scan an item, create a virtual try-on, or run a colour analysis, the photos involved (of you and of your clothes) are sent through our servers to our AI providers, listed under Third-Party Services
• Not stored by us: We do not keep these photos on our servers after the request is done. Your photo library and the photos in your closet stay on your device
• On-device steps: Some steps, such as cutting a garment out of its background, run on your device
• iCloud Photos Integration: If you enable iCloud Photos sync, your wardrobe syncs across your Apple devices using Apple's infrastructure
• Cross-Device Sync: We use perceptual hashing to link items across devices without storing your actual photos
• Web color tool: The free Find My Color tool on this website processes photos only in your browser and stores nothing.

Thraed offers AI-powered features including virtual try-ons, colour analysis and styling suggestions. Try-on images, colour results and stylist replies are labelled as AI-generated in the app. Because they are generated automatically, they may include inaccuracies.

We do not guarantee the accuracy or suitability of AI-generated outputs. Virtual try-on results are approximations and may not perfectly reflect how clothing will look in real life.

To run Thraed, we rely on these third-party service providers:

• Google (Gemini) - AI processing of your photos for item scanning, virtual try-on and colour analysis. We reach Google through OpenRouter. If OpenRouter is unavailable, we call Google directly, and then Google may keep the request for a limited time to detect abuse
• OpenRouter - Passes AI requests on to Google. We require zero data retention on every request, so OpenRouter and the Google endpoint it uses do not keep your photos after the request
• OpenAI - Powers the style chat, where available. It receives your chat messages, any photo you attach, and the wardrobe details, colour season and saved notes the stylist needs to answer
• Open-Meteo - Weather lookup for outfit suggestions. It receives your approximate location only if you allow location access
• PostHog - Product analytics, hosted in the EU, only if you agree. See Product Analytics below. Never receives your photos
• RevenueCat - Subscription management and payment processing
• Apple App Store - App distribution and in-app purchases
• Apple iCloud - Optional cross-device sync
• Cloudflare - Network and security service in front of our servers. Your requests, including photos, pass through it encrypted in transit

These providers process data according to their own privacy policies. Some of them process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. In those cases we rely on the transfer safeguards the providers offer, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

We process your account, wardrobe and subscription data to provide the service you signed up for. We send your photos to AI providers based on the permission you give in the app. We keep diagnostic logs based on our legitimate interest in keeping Thraed secure and working.

Colour analysis reads the skin, hair and eye colours in your selfie to find your colour season. Because a face photo can indirectly reveal sensitive information, we treat this as special-category data under Article 9 of the GDPR and process it only with your explicit consent, which the app asks for before your first colour analysis. We never try to determine your ethnic origin. We send your selfie through our server to our AI providers to get the analysis (see Third-Party Services for how long they may keep requests). We do not keep the selfie on our server. The app keeps a copy on your phone to show your colours. We keep the result: your season, palette, colours to avoid, a short explanation and tips. Deleting your account deletes the result.

You have the right to access, correct, export and delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw your permission at any time. Withdrawing permission does not affect processing that already happened. To use these rights, email us at [email protected]. You can also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) or to the data protection authority where you live.

We keep your account and wardrobe data until you delete your account. Photos sent for AI processing are not kept on our servers after the request is done. Diagnostic logs are kept only as long as needed to investigate problems.

You can delete your Thraed account at any time from within the app. Deleting your account deletes your account, wardrobe items, saved outfits and colour result from our database at once, and deletes your RevenueCat record. Copies in our backups are removed within 30 days. Usage stats you agreed to share are linked only to an internal ID, not to your name or email.

Thraed is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at [email protected], and we will delete it promptly.

The Thraed app uses PostHog, hosted in the EU, to learn how the app is used so we can improve it. We collect this only if you agree. The app asks once, after you sign in. You can change your answer at any time in the app under Profile, Privacy, "Share usage stats".

• Until You Agree: Nothing is sent to PostHog, and nothing for it is stored on your device. This is also the case if you choose "Not now"
• If You Agree: The app sends usage events, such as which screen is open and when a scan or try-on is done. We link them to your account with an internal user ID, and PostHog keeps a random ID on your device. We do not record your screen
• What Is Included: The event name and a few details such as the type of scan or the plan you bought, plus basic device information: device model, operating system, app version, and your approximate location (such as city, region, postal code and coordinates) estimated from your IP address. PostHog does not keep the IP address itself
• What Is Never Sent: Your photos, try-on images, name, email address, or text you type
• If You Change Your Mind: Turn off "Share usage stats". The app stops sending and deletes the PostHog ID from your device

If the app encounters an unexpected error, we may capture diagnostic information such as device type, operating system version, crash reports, and timestamps. This technical data is used strictly for debugging and product improvement.

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect your personal information. No system is completely immune to risk, so we encourage you to use strong passwords and keep your devices secure.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page. We encourage you to review the policy from time to time to stay informed.
